PLAYERS TO WATCH

1. Aryna SABALENKA (#8)

Sabalenka has had strong start to 2021 with a 9/3 win loss record and a title in Abu Dhabi to start the year. Last week in Doha she lost her second round match to eventual finalist Muguruza in 3 tight sets and will be looking to rebound quickly this week and cement her Top 10 ranking ahead of the Miami Open.

2. Petra KVITOVA (#10)

Kvitova won her 28th career title last week in Doha (defeating Muguruza) winning 10/11 sets she played throughout the event. She has tasted success in Dubai before winning the 2013 tournament (defeating Errani) and making the final in 2019 (lost to Bencic) and will be a serious contender considering her favourable draw.

3. Garbine MUGURUZA (#16)

Muguruza continued to impress me in 2021 with her form making it to her second final in 4 events in Doha last week (lost to Kvitova). She has started 2021 with a 12/4 win loss record and continues to climb her way back into the Top 10 with consistent results R16 at Abu Dhabi, Final at Yarra Valley Classic, R16 at Australian Open and Final at Doha.
